Női válogatottunk  7–1-re nyert a Szerbia elleni csoportrangadón, ezzel a kvartett legjobbjaként jutottak az egyenes kieséses szakasz első körébe.

A nemzeti csapat Németországgal csap össze a folytatásban, mivel a rivális meglepetésre 5–3-ra kikapott az osztrákoktól.

A női válogatott szerbek elleni győzelme azért is fontos, mert a csapat 3712-es összfás eredménnyel zárt. Az idei Világbajnokságon a női csapatok közül ez az első alkalom, hogy 3700 fa felett teljesített egy válogatott.
